Meet your teachers: Judie and Mercedes!

About Judie
Judie has been a Steveston resident since 2013. She started practicing yoga 30 years ago.
Judie is a trained acupressurist who believes that both physical and emotional healing and growth occur when we bring awareness, movement, space and breath to all parts of our bodies. She is also a writer and editor in her spare time.
Judie is a longtime runner, hiker, former lifeguard/swim and water fit instructor, passionate snowboarder, commuter cyclist and former rock climbing addict.
You may also see her in local parks racing across monkey bars, hanging upside down and cartwheeling. She is passionate about her family, the environment, animal welfare, healthy living and her community.
Yoga helps her connect with my inner strength and shine my light brighter.

About Mercedes
Mercedes is the co-founder of True Yoga.
Born and raised in Spain, Mercedes has lived in 5 different countries where she has learned to adapt to diversity and plurality. Her life has shaped her personality, from great accomplishments, to loss. She is taking life as a gift and nothing for granted.
Mercedes is Certified to teach Yoga, Pilates, Fitness, and many more but her journey has brought her into a deeper connection to Yoga and Meditation. She enjoys guiding her students to explore, grow and shine.
When not teaching, you can find Mercedes walking around Steveston with her 2 year old granddaughter and her rescue dog, Miela. She loves cooking Spanish food for her family and friends, dancing, kayaking, hiking or seating down at home with a blanket and a comforting infused tea.
Energy and Inspiration are found everywhere, we just need to slow down and SEE them.
