What is Power Yoga?

True Power Yoga is a dynamic and physically challenging style of yoga that combines strength-building poses with breath and movement. This class is designed to increase your overall fitness level, build lean muscle, and improve flexibility and balance.

In a True Power Yoga class, you can expect to move through a series of postures that flow together seamlessly, creating a continuous, fluid movement. You will build heat and intensity as you move, working up a sweat and burning calories.

The class begins with a brief centering and warm-up, followed by a series of Sun Salutations to warm up the body and increase flexibility. From there, you will move through a series of standing postures, including lunges, twists, and balancing poses, all designed to build strength and stamina.

Throughout the class, you will be encouraged to challenge yourself and explore your limits, but always with modifications and variations offered to accommodate all levels of experience and ability. The class ends with a cool-down and final relaxation to help you integrate the benefits of your practice and leave feeling balanced and refreshed.

True Power Yoga is a great choice for anyone looking for a high-energy, physically challenging yoga practice that will help you build strength, improve flexibility, and reduce stress. Whether you are an experienced yogi or new to the practice, this class will leave you feeling energized and empowered.

About Your Teacher, Mike

Mike is originally from Ontario and relocated to BC in 1999. He first tried yoga in 2003 by going to a kundalini course. He then started up a regular practice in 2007 with his new love for hot yoga. After five years of dedicated practice he decided to become a yoga teacher in order to share the best service possible to make people feel great, healthy and happy! Mike is 200 hr trained from in Vancouver. He also has yin training certification, among many other workshops he leads classes in meditation, vinyasa, flow, hatha, yin, restorative, rocket, and hot yoga.

Mike does massage and tries to bring a holistic as well as musical approach to his transformational classes. He lives, eats and breathes yoga and can be found skateboarding or playing music off of the mat.

What he won’t tell you: He is blind in one eye and can automatically see things from a different perspective, ready to put you in alignment with your greatest purpose with focus and determination.
